Kendall and Victoria's project was called "Levitating Orbs" and was a PERFECT experiement! It was interesting, easy to construct, and pretty easy for them to understand and explain to others. Plus it was fun having those tinsel orbs floating in the air like we were at a Hogwarts class or something!
Tying six pieces of tinsel together to make their orbs...
Adding static electricity to their "wands"...
The static electricity from the orbs and wand repel each other... or not in Kendall's case here...
Victoria's orb is working!...
Kendall's got it now...
Poster is done...
Hudson and Quentin did a fun experiment with eggs. Theirs was called the Harry Potter Egg Drop and their goal was to build a contraption that would protect a "Harry Potter" egg and keep it from breaking when dropped from our back balcony. They uses sponges to wrap up the non-hardboiled egss, parachutes they made out of grocery bags, and other various recyclebles to protect the egg from cracking.
Making sure every egg had a Harry Potter face cause we're going to find out if the "Boy Who Lived" can survive a big drop if he's an egg...
One Harry Potter egg safe and sound and smashed between two sponges...
Quentin trying to figure out the next contraption for the next egg...
Parachute...
Frisbee with popsicle wings?? With Lego Voldemort, Ron Weasley, and Harry Potter taped to the top?...
At the STEM Fair getting set up and being judged by our expert scientists...
