Cookie Making Christmas Eve

What is Christmas Eve without making frosted sugar cookies to leave out for Santa! The best part of this activity was that my mom sent everything we would need all in one little package - cookie mix, Christmas cookie cutters, spatula, and frosting. It was awesome and something I'll have to keep in mind for next year! It was way easier and less messy for sure!

Mixing up the dough took three girls... and one uninterested boy...

Using the rolling pins is always so fun for these guys...

And getting white flour all over everything is fun, too...

Anybody want to lick a few sticky fingers? That's a total of 30 right there...

Cheer Its over cookies? This boy is crazy...

Hudson just didn't get the decorating part of the activity, though he tried to humor us by kinda smearing frosting on a cookie...

On the other hand, Ella, Brooklyn, and Kendall put all they had into making each cookie the best it could be for Santa to enjoy...

Following sugar cookie and powder sugar snowman making, our usual night-time tradition on Christmas Eve is dinner at Vince's Pizza, a drive through Shady Brook Farm's Christmas light display, and then home to open our first gift of Christmas... our new Christmas PJs, setting out plates of goodie for Santa and his reindeer, bedtime stories, and then bed.

Brooklyn and Kendall were really concentrating hard on counting out enough carrots for each reindeer...

So then, of course, Hudson had to count them all out, too. So much for having carrots in our toss salad Christmas Day...

Looks like Santa and his reindeer will eat well tonight...

Off to bed they went, and then the real work began...
