Christmas Day

Christmas morning the kids woke us up around 7:30 am, and were bouncing off the walls with excitement. It took a while for them to pull us both out of bed and by the time we got the music turned on, the video camera all set up and ready to roll, the kids were freaking out! I love torturing my kids.

The minute we said, "okay," they all came flying down the stairs and into the family room. Oh what a joyous sight! They paused for a minute to take it all in and then started looking for gifts with their names on them and tearing them open.

One more picture before we let them loose...

And they were off...

Well, except for Hudson who needed a hand down the stairs. Luckily Ella (with Ryan) helped to contain Miss Brooklyn while the other two caught up...

Their smiles make it all worth it...

Hudson got a rocking horse to go with his cowboy boots, and some large plastic zoo animals...

Sugar sent the kids an enormous bouncy house...

Grandma and Grandpa sent each kid their very own gift card to spend as they please...

I got a magnetic bookmark that said MOM from Brooklyn, and a ring from Ella. I love the thoughtful gifts they buy me at their school Christmas store each year...

Brooklyn got a wooden car building kit, and a dinosaur bone excavation kit...

Kendall got a light-up Fluttery and MagnaTiles...

Ella got a gymnastics mat and a wood-working kit...

Hudson got Goldfish from Kendall, and he was one happy camper...

Brooklyn begged us for a real live puppy, but we said no way. So instead, she got Zoomer the dog. He can be trained to do just about everything a real live dog can do, and the great thing is, when he pees in the house, there's nothing to clean up!...

Stockings were always my favorite part. The kiddos were thrilled with theirs...

A Steel Mechanic building kit for Ella...

Kendall finally put down her new Flutterbye and made her way over to her stocking...

Hudson was getting the hang of unwrapping presents...

Ella overseeing bone extraction from Brooklyn's new archaeologist kit...

Getting Zoomer charged and ready to roll...

Every year, Santa sends the kids on a scavenger hunt throughout the house to find the one special gift he has brought them from the North Pole. This year, they all ended up in the garage to find two ride-on vehicles. A quad for Ella and Brooklyn, and an orange convertible for Kendall and Hudson...

The kids couldn't wait for warmer weather to blow up the bounce house. The rain completely soaked the grass so we opted for our driveway after a quick sweep of all debris. Holy cow is this thing fun...

Brooklyn helping/pushing Hudson down the slide for the first time...

Ryan and I got some fabulous gifts as well from our parents. My mom made me this apron, which I absolutely love (the look on my face is directed at my camera-incabable husband)...

It was an amazing Christmas and I'm so very grateful for my healthy, happy family (and spending the entire day in my new pjs). Merry Christmas!
