Hudson Turns Three

What can I say about this little boy except that we all ADORE him. He is the cutest, funniest, sweetest, snuggliest, most sensitive, thoughtful, kind hearted little boy. I can't believe he's already three... where did the time go?

I love being with him all day while the girls are at school, and doing "boy" things like playing trucks, trains, ball, dinosaurs, etc, or throwing rocks into the creek, riding bikes all around our cul-de-sac, playing hide-and-go-seek, or chasing deer off our lawn. It's always an adventure with him, and he's so happy to be outside and going places, even if it's just to the grocery store or Home Goods (and he even loves helping me unload everything). He has so many good friends his age, too, like Ryker, Mina, Kate, Ammie, and Sophia, which he loves to play with.

Here's a little more about Hudson:

- He loves when we ask him to do "creepy eyes," which is just him making a funny face and making his eyes and hands go weird, like this...

- He absolutely loves his blankets... his absolute favorites are a blue bamboo one he got as a gift when he was born, a blue minky airplane/truck one my mom made him when he was born, and now a navy blue minky elephant one my mom made him for his birthday). He also loves his binkie, which we're going to have to remove from his life very soon!

- He's so proud he knows all his colors and loves to point that out whenever he can just to hear us praise him and say, "that's right, Hudson, the truck is yellow."

- On our walks around the neighborhood, Hudson loves to play I Spy. He always says I'm right, even when I've guessed the wrong thing he's spied.

- He loves to snuggle with me and his favorite blankets at all times.

- He lets me kiss him all day long without too much complaint. Although, he doesn't have much patience when his sisters try to do the same.

- He LOVES his Spiderman costume from Halloween two years ago - yep, it's a bit small on him now.

- He likes doing things for himself and helping others out when he can.

- Favorite restaurant:  Chick-fil-a
- Favorite food:  noodles
- Favorite drink:  Spiderman drink with water (he means his Spiderman water bottle)
- Favorite color:  blue
- Favorite football team:  Broncos (brainwashed anyone?)
- Favorite cartoon:  Jake and the Neverland Pirates
- Favorite thing to play in the house:  "noculars" (binoculars)
- Favorite thing to play outside:  catching birds (no idea what he means here?)
- Favorite book to read:  monster books
- What does he want to be when he grows up:  "grow big and tall and fast with my running shoes on"
- Favorite treat: M&Ms

Since we had cake for Hudson's birthday on New Year's Eve, I didn't make another one for his actual birthday on Sunday. So, Brooklyn and Kendall made Hudson this pretend birthday cake out of molding clay and lots and lots of candles...

Brooklyn was just dying to open Hudson's gifts for him...

Brooklyn gave Hudson a car that you attach to a propeller and it shoots it across the floor. It's probably his favorite gift and it cost Brooklyn a whole $1.29 at the Almost Everything Dollar Store...

Ella made this race car out of a wooden kit she got for Christmas, and then hand painted it for Hudson...

Hudson was sooooo excited when he saw his next gift, Chase from Paw Patrol, which was immediately swiped by Brooklyn as soon as she and Ella got it out of it's packaging...

Hudson desperately needed a new soft minky blanket since he's outgrown most of his other blankets. Sugar made him this cute elephant and polka dot blanket, and now his sisters want one, too. I'll know where to look if it ever goes missing...

Money from Aunt Michel and Uncle Chris...

And more money from GG and GPa...

One... two... three... dollar bills...
