Fall in St. George

We headed out west for a week-long trip to St. George since it's "No School November." Fall in St. George is AMAZING!! The weather was so beautiful the whole time we were there and we had such a blast with Clark and Christy!! They took us hiking and rock climbing in Snow Canyon and Zion, swimming at the coolest indoor water park, to the movies to see Trolls, and eating at the yummiest restaurants. Their house is so warm and welcoming, too, that we did not want to leave!

While we were out West, we also made a quick overnight trip up to Provo and Salt Lake City to visit GG Mildred Asay, Aunt Hilma Honeyman, and Kevin, Kerry, Kolton, Krew, and Ledger Asay. It had been way too long since we had seen any of those guys and it was fun catching up with everyone.

This is definitely a trip we should do every year!!

Look who we ran into at the airport. Harry was there promoting his new book, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, which we were proud to say we had already read. Thank goodness, too, or he might have cursed us...

The whole time-change thing really threw us off this trip. The kids woke up at 3:30 - IN THE MORNING - and could not go back to bed. So what do you do at 3:30am in Las Vegas? Sit next to every Lego statue you can find - A total of six I think...

At about 4:30am, I discovered a new word...

And at 5am we were wishing the Hershey Chocolate Factory Store was open for something to eat...

At 5:20am we said hello to Miss Lady Liberty...

And then at 5:30am we showed the kids the "princess" castle...

By 6am we were starving and ready to find something to eat in NY NY...

Hudson found his name on a street sign in NYC...

And then finally the sun came up and we decided to walk the whole strip again now that the stores were all open...

If only he was made of chocolate...

The view of Paris from the Bellagio. The Bellagio fountains are still my most favorite part of Las Vegas...

We were done with the Vegas Strip by early afternoon and ready to see Clark and Christy, so we headed off to St. George. Our first day there was spent hiking and climbing at Snow Canyon, where I bribed Christy to get in front of my camera...

Climbing to the top is an accomplishment...

Throwing rocks couldn't be more exciting for this kid!...

Zion National Park was beautiful this time of year and quiet. We were able to enjoy everything we wanted to see and do before it got too crowded. The mountains there are incredible. I just marvel at the enormity of them...

Hudson LOVED sliding down this rock... in his shorts. That couldn't have felt good on his buns...

How's that sun in your eyes?...

Waterfalls...

Driving up to Salt Lake City to see the Asay cousins was another highlight of our trip. Their new house is beautiful...

On our way back to St. George, we stopped at an old historical fort (dang, I can't remember the name of it). We learned all about the early settlers here, played pioneer games like the one below, and enjoyed seeing the old kitchen, post office, bunk rooms, etc. I'm so glad I was not an early pioneer...
