Halloween 2017

Another fun year of Halloween festivities and traditions. This year, the kids went in four different directions with their friends in the neighborhood. Ella went to a big party at Reilly's house up the street and trick-or-treating with about 20 of her friends. Brooklyn went with Madison, Kendall went with Emily and Lexi, and Ryan took Hudson with his friend, Sophie, and her dad. I had house duty, which was great cause I was able to clean the disaster in my house while waiting for little knocks on the door.

The pre-school Halloween party and trick-or-treating around Yardley Boro is still one of my favorite holiday traditions. This was our last time to enjoy this fun activity, boohoo!...

This skinny skeleton wasn't sure he wanted to hug his mom in front of all his school friends...

Two of Hudson's sillies and best friends - Ryker the Ninja and Kate the Cat...

Digging into the Halloween goodies already...

We broke from tradition this year due to time constraints and went to pick pumpkins at a different farm. And while we didn't get to go on the usual hayride at Styer, we got to watch Ryan carry four enormous pumpkins to get the daily special - $20 total for as many pumpkins as you can carry. Ryan took the four largest from the group of six, and they were huge! What a deal!...

At our annual Ward Trunk-or-Treat and Chili Cook off, Kendall transformed into a beautiful queen...

Brooklyn wore her dance recital cheerleading costume...

Hudson changed his mind and decided to be Spiderman rather than a glow-in-the-dark skeleton...

And Ella went as Athena, Goddess of Wisdom and War (obviously more the "war" part than the "wisdom" part)...

Hanging out with some of Kendall's church buddies...

And Hudson with a few more of his good friends...

We finally got around to carving those enormous pumpkins, but some kiddos just can't handle the slimy insides...

Even Hudson was having a hard time with it...

Best to leave the knife handling to dad...

Pretty proud of his "scary-faced" pumpkin...

Loved the added detail Brooklyn put on the top of her pumpkin around the stem...

Ella did her best carving a mustache on her pumpkin this year...

The finished products... Ryan's, Hudson's and Ella's...

Mine, Brooklyn's and Kendall's...

Hudson's pre-school class performed "Scary Halloween" where they put on a short skit (Hudson was Howl the Werewolf) and sang six cute Halloween songs...

Ryan and I couldn't wait to get a picture with the celebrity Howl the Werewolf when we came off the stage...

Halloween parade and class parties at Brooklyn and Kendall's school...

With all the chaos and activities on Halloween night, I didn't get a single picture of the kids or the rest of the pumpkins all lit up. Thank goodness I got some pictures of the kids in their costumes at the Trunk-or-Treat!
