Colorado!

As soon as the kids were finally out of school for the summer we headed out of town to Colorado. We had a fun visit with Grandma Connell in Denver, and then met up with the rest of the Asay family at the YMCA of the Rockies Snow Mountain Ranch for a week of outdoor fun!

The YMCA offered just about every activity you could possibly imagine, and the kids spent the week exploring as many as they could - pool, rock climbing, archery, hiking, white water rafting, rollerskating, Gaga Ball, arts and crafts, BINGO, etc. They loved doing all of these fun things with their cousins Josh, Abby, Zachary, Matthew, Kolton, Krew, Ledger and little baby Knox.

We entertained Grandma Connell with all the news of the past few months, a mini piano recital, moth catching, and chasing the facility's cat around the room. I'm pretty sure we wore her out!...

Piano recital...

I'm so proud of myself for getting a picture of Christy looking at the camera and Clark smiling...

Another fun and memorable visit with Grandma Connell until next time...

A little frozen treat at Menchie's before our movie starts...

It's tradition to see a movie with Grandma and Grandpa Asay when we're together so we all went to see Incredibles 2. I really wish I had some sort of superpower...

Red Rocks Amphitheater where the kids and I tried running down and then up ALL the steps. Could. not. do. it.!...

Ella, Christy, Kendall, Abby and Andrea catching some cool summer rays up in the YMCA Rocky Mountains...

Day ONE at the YMCA was the most perfect day for kite flying!! Look at that sky!!...

Getting your kite string tangled with your favorite girl cousin isn't so bad!...

We spent SO much time at the roller skating rink that I'm thinking we should have built one in our backyard instead of a treehouse last summer! The kids loved it - and aside from one major wipe out - I did, too! At night, they cleared the rink of skaters and played massive dodgeball games. So fun!...

Ryan getting in his summer golf game...

Three generations playing foosball...

Josh, Matthew, Crew, Zachary, Kolton, Abby, Ella and Brooklyn loving the slide...

Kevin and Ledger doing a double ride...

Grandpa Asay and Hudson doubling up...

Ella and Abby lounging...

Almost all the boys but Josh and Ledger... Matthew, Zachary, Hudson, Kolton, Knox, and Crew...

Brooklyn trying her arm at archery...

Crew, Kendall and Ella giving it a try...

I think that's Ella out there in the kayak...

Hudson couldn't wait for his turn...

Travis is THE OUTDOORSMAN! You should have seen the Murray's suburban when they pulled up to the YMCA - bikes, kayaks and fishing poles tethered down on the top, and a huge hatch back full of balls for every sport, and every other outdoor equipment you could possibly need. He's helping Ella get her fly fishing rod ready for casting...

Again with the beautiful sky!...

A short hike to a waterfall...

Our white water rafting trip down the Colorado was a little too slow and calm in my opinion, but my kids - first timers river rafting - had fun. We stopped half way down the river to go cliff jumping. Brooklyn here is getting high fives for her jump!...

Kevin, Matthew, Krew, Andrea, river guide, Ella, Brooklyn, Abby, and Clark...

The rafting crew... We're just missing Christy, Kerry, Ledger and baby Knox...

Brooklyn, Abby and Ella enjoying the break...

Ryan, Kendall, Kolton, Josh, river guide, me, Hudson, Zachary and Travis...

Saying goodbye to baby Knox...

Ledger and Abby...

Knox and Kendall...

Brooklyn got big smiles from Knox...

Brooklyn on the mini zip line...

Kendall reading Charlott's Web to her new stuffed friend at the YMCA library...

Big fires burning not too far away...

Rock climbing...

Hanging with the horses. We didn't have enough time left on our trip to go on a trail ride so we're just going to have to go back to the YMCA next summer...

BINGO night. Josh, Travis, Abby, Ella hiding behind her card, Kendall, Matthew and Brooklyn...

We're just missing Knox, but 11 out of 12 isn't bad! So happy we got to spend the week with these guys...

Exploring a cave made by a man who had a dream that there was gold to be found on this mountain. He spent his life searching and digging for it but never found it...

Hudson and Kendall loved meeting the YMCA sled dogs. They were beautiful...

After leaving the YMCA, we stopped at Winter Park ski resort for a little ride on the alpine slide...

Meeting the Coca-Cola bear...

Brooklyn, Ella, Zachary, Hudson, Matthew and Kendall waiting to ride the slide...

Family picture at Winter Park Village...

Ryan and Hudson made the mistake of letting Kendall go first. She was SLOW and held up about five additional people behind her...
