We made it an early night and headed to our AirB&B taking the scenic route by way of Lake Champlain. In the morning we headed back to Lake Champlain to a fun restaurant near the water called The Skinny Pancake where we ate awesomly delicious crepes for breakfast. After a nice walk along the waterfront we had a big decision to make. We could either go one way home and hit the Vermont Teddy Bear Factory, or go a different way home and hit the Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream Factory. Guess which one won? Off to the Teddy Bear Factory we went for a short tour and bear making... cause who doesn't need another stuffed animal in their life?!
The Skinny Pancake...
Lake Champlain...
Learning about teddy bear construction...
Special, one-of-a-kind bears are sold at auction for thousands of dollars and the money raised goes to the Make-A-Wish Foundation to help make wishes come true...
The teddy bear hospital was hilarious. These guys have thought of everything! Vermont Teddy Bears are guaranteed for the life of the bear! They will fix or replace for free any bear that still has it's tag attached to it's bum, even if the tag is the only thing left of the bear. Our tour guide showed us an example of a bear they recently admitted into the hospital because it was run over by a lawn mower. The poor bear was shredded into pieces, but luckily, the owners were able to salvage the bear's tag and sent it in to the factory. Since the hospital couldn't patch the bear back together again, they sent a new bear back to the owner...
Getting treatment, and a healthy dose of honey for a quick recovery...
Making their own bears. Kendall decided to put a little bit of "imagination" in her bear...
Brooklyn put a little extra "giggles" in her bear...
And Hudson is adding a bit of "magic" in his bear...
Hudson is cutting his bear's umbilical cord and signing it's birth certificate so we can take it home...
All four of our cute bears outside the factory...
Vermont was our last and final stop on our road trip and then it was a LONG six hour drive back home. All was well until the last two hours when Kendall got car sick and we had to pull over a few times to let her barf. Poor thing!
All in all it was a fun road trip and I'm so glad we got to go to a few different places on our way to and from Quebec City. We covered a lot of ground and saw some great things. Good time with the family!
