Clark and Christy arrived by car Friday evening to a house full of excited and anxious kids who immediately bombarded them with every detail of their lives for the past several weeks. The noise and chatter of all four kids talking at once was unbelievable! I wonder if Clark and Christy wanted to jump back in their car by the end of it all and drive all the way back to Utah?!
Saturday we met up with Layne and Shelley at Terhune Orchard for some apple picking, trailer rides, farm animals, corn mazes, apple cider donuts, and just some good'ole time out on the farm. Do you know what four kids picking two large bags of apples cost? $60!!! Anyone want some apples?
After the Fall festivities, we came back to our place for a late lunch/early dinner and some down time just visiting. It was weird not having Connor here, too. We thought of him working hard at MTC in Mexico City as we ate Mexican food. We miss you Connor!
Sunday after church, Ryan, Clark and Christy took the kids on a walk/bike ride to the nearby playground. When they got back we ate a birthday dinner in celebration of Ryan's 40th birthday.
Clark and Christy started their drive back to Ivins just after the kids said goodbye and jumped on the school bus. We hate when visitors leave!
Ella's inspecting the apple to make sure there aren't any "bad" spots on them - she knows how picky her dad is about his apples...
Kendall was Star Student the previous week, and as part of that honor, she got to bring Freddy the Frog home with her for the weekend. We took him apple picking with us and wrote about it in his journal. It looks like he's having fun...
Hudson is using his "noclars" to keep the sun out of his eyes and see far away in the other row of apples...
The whole apple picking crew... Layne, Clark, Christy, Shelley, Hudson, Ryan, Ella, Brooklyn, Kendall, and Freddy the Frog...
Love the fall colors in the background trees. Oh, and I really love these four little cuties, too...
Going for a trailer ride around the orchard...
Hudson loved watching the tractor...
Aunt Shelley telling Hudson all about the tractor...
Kendall, Hudson and Brooklyn coming out of the corn maze...
Hudson feeding the animals at the farm...
Ryan enjoying the hand-made card and hot pink pom-pom ball Brooklyn made for him for his birthday...
Everybody wanted their turn with Ryan's new neck massager...
We love you Ryan... Happy 40th Birthday!
