Friends and Family Visits

We were lucky to have three visitors this month...

Doug Volan, a friend I used to work with 18 years ago at New York Life Insurance in New York City, made his annual drive from New York City to visit us in PA. We ate the most delicious lunch at Jammin Crepes in Princeton, NJ and then walked around the Princeton University campus since it was such a beautiful Fall day.

From Princeton, we drove a few miles away to go apple picking at a cute farm called Terhune Orchard. We hand picked the best of the best apples and ended up with more than we needed!! We couldn't leave Terhune without a visit to their general store for some apple cider and apple cider donuts, which the bees were just as interested in as we were!!

Once we fled the swarm of hungry bees, we headed home and made some homemade applesauce for the first time ever, which actually ended up tasting pretty good, surprisingly! We spent the rest of the afternoon hanging out, catching up, eating dinner and enjoying the fun books and activities Doug brought with him. Thanks for coming to visit us, Doug!

Our favorite NJ Asays came for a Saturday full of soccer games and BBQ lunch. I can't begin to say how grateful I am for these two and that they actually want to spend time with us! We always have so much fun together and the kids LOVE them. We sure miss Connor on these visits, but love when he's in town and we get to see him, too...
