On Friday, nearly the entire country closed all public, private, and religious schools. The kids left school Thursday afternoon thinking they were going back the following morning only to find out Thursday night that all schools were closed for the next two weeks... at least.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, along with most other religions, have cancelled all religious services and other large group gatherings. The LDS church has closed almost all temples and has started calling back missionaries from around the world.
Over the weekend the effects of the virus has continued to change the way we function on a day to day basis. Food, toilet paper, hand sanitizer, and Clorox wipes shortages have caused people to panic and horde supplies. Shoppping malls have closed their doors, all Broadway shows in New York City have been cancelled, employees have been forced to work from home, all stores and restaurants (aside from those providing supplies like Target, Costco and grocery stores) have closed or have drive-through services only. It's completely crazy right now.
It's starting to feel like the apocalypse around here!
Since we're home, Ella has pulled out her 3000 piece puzzel again to work on, Brooklyn is baking up a storm in the kitchen daily with Kendall, Hudson, and Ella's help sometimes, Kendall and Hudson have rediscoverd climbing trees and riding bikes, and we've walked around the neighborhood more times than the kids will care to admit. Our house looks like a train wreck but we are having fun and hoping the kids will be back in school again and back to their usual activities in about two weeks.
Brooklyn enjoying her cheesecake creations with ice cream...
Banana bread baking helpers...
Catching up on "homework," or so she says =-)...
The house is a disaster with everyone home all day. Luckily we have fortbuilding to keep us busy and entertained...
Ella and her puzzle...
The cup situation was getting out of hand so I made this...
Kendall started a science project to see if the color of the water would transfer to these beautiful spring flowers she picked in the backyard...
Crazy!...
