last blogger on the block: Brooklyn's COVID-19 Birthday

What does a COVID-19 birthday look like for a now 12-year-old girl? Pretty much like every other day of the week, unfortunately. However, to make it extra special for Brooklyn, we risked our lives and got a carryout from Outback Steakhouse for her birthday dinner. That's about all we could do. We're hoping to celebrate sometime in the future.

Brooklyn is a ball of energy... always in motion. She is the definition of fun, vibrant, ambitious, a little high maintenance, a natural-born leader. She does everything to it's fullest extreme and is usually going so fast that we can hardly understand what she's saying or what she's doing most of the time... she's like a blur. But we can definitely tell when she's around because she is L-O-U-D, and she's not embarrassed by it either! In fact, I don't think there is anything she's embarrassed about... including the messes she makes everywhere she goes that she seems to "forget" to clean up!

Brooklyn LOVES shopping PERIOD... for clothes, shoes (especially Vans and Converse right now) and just about everything else. Her daily outfit and hair style is a daily situation (for lack of a better word). She spends a great deal of time on both... ALL DAY LONG!

Brooklyn also loves to EAT... and VERY aggressively at that (watching her eat a salad is serious business!)! She has become our resident baker... like every single day the most delicious, buttery, sugary goodness! (P.S., We are getting FAT!).

She DOES NOT like nature much. Brooklyn hates bugs and will literally give you a heart attack with her screams if she so much as finds a gnat anywhere on her clothes and much worse if it touches her skin! However, she's the best one to call on to ramp up the level of fun and excitement for something as mundane as popcorn and a movie. She's going to be an amazing babysitter cause she has the energy to keep kids entertained for hours. And, she is quite the planner. She needs to know by breakfast what we're having for dinner that night so she can plan the rest of her day!

And if there's any question why I'm using so many CAPITAL letters you don't know Brooklyn! That's pretty much how she lives her life! She keeps us on our toes for sure, and I think one day I should charge her $5 for every grey hair she's given me and Ryan! We love her to pieces and hope she keeps her spunk as she nears her teenage years!

Being short on funds and opportunities for shopping, Hudson gave Brooklyn a roll of TP, which was actually quite hilarious since the one thing everyone seems to be hording right now during this pandemic is toilet paper. And Kendall made gift certificates for Brooklyn to ride her new beach cruiser bike...
