We're off to a pretty good start with this elearning business. It's day three of online learning and we're starting to figure things out. Hudson is whinning through every assignment so this may be a long couple of months until it's officially summer!
Some fun things for us... Kendall and Hudson have BOTH lost a tooth. Kendall was excited to have hers pulled out, Hudson... not so much. We were eating French Dip sandwiches for dinner last night and Hudson was having a hard time biting into his because of his loose tooth. The family talked him into having me yank it out so he could enjoy his dinner and he relented. There were lots of tears and blood, but it came out in one gentle tug and then one more forceful pull. Hudson asked Ryan at bedtime if toothfairies can get the coronavirus? Not sure about that so Hudson put his toothfairy pillow six feet away.
Ella finished her 3000 piece puzzle... FINALLY!! It's been a labor of love over the past five years. It has been moved to nearly every room in the house and has lived for months under her bed, under the couch, on top of the piano, on the dining room table, etc. It was a bittersweet moment for Ella, especially since ONE piece is missing! Dang! We've looked everywhere, but to no avail. Grandma Sugar is offering $20 to whoever finds it. We are gluing the puzzle together today and then moving it to a permanent spot!
Brooklyn is learning how to braid hair and has pulled out some significant amount of hair on my and Ella's heads.
Hudson thinks he's the basketball champion of the family!
Kendall and Hudson got two new butterfly nets and have new bikes ordered and arriving in a week or two.
Ryan still does not have a full-time job lined up (and I think it's driving him crazy!)... the virus is slowing that process down considerably! He is still looking at two companies and slowly working through the process. He is doing some contract work right now so that is keeping him a bit busy.
My little sewing group (the women who were sewing costumes for the middle school play) have been sewing face masks now instead of 42nd Street costumes. There are huge shortages of life-saving equipment for medical workers in the US, and face masks is one item we can make for them. Women across the country are doing the same and Joann fabric is offering the supplies free of charge to those who are able to assemble them and drop them back off to be donated. It's pretty cool, actually.
Hudson made his own face mask...
Tree climbing is back and Kendall and Hudson are loving it...
I spy with my little eye Hudson's hand poking out of the tree...
Rolling down the hill together...
Lots and lots and lots of bike rides and walks around the neighborhood...
Ryan showing the kids how to play basketball...
Ella getting a little bit of help from her mom with her puzzle...
How many days in a row can I wear my workout clothes?...
Getting closer to the finish line...
Hudson taking on his own puzzle...
Hudson putting a few pieces in place for us...
And the last piece (minus the one that's lost) goes in and it's all joy!...
Honestly the hardest puzzle I ever hope to come across! Congratulations Ella and way to go!...
At least it's Spring and not Winter to be sheltering in place! Look at those trees!...
The government says that by staying home we are saving the world, so we are saving the world one quarantined day at a time...
It's getting harder and harder to keep track of the days...
Thank goodness I love my husband or this would be HELL...
elearning begins...
Kendall getting comfy while doing homework...
Hudson is taking a break from his homework to research how pop up books are made. Then making his very own...
So sorry seniors...
Smiling through the tears and blood...
