June was a very exciting month! It looked a lot like March, April, and May, but we added in a friend or two here and there. I know that doesn't sound like much, but it made all the difference in the world for my kiddos who have done such a great job isolating for so long.
We also finished the school year... at home of course... and Ella graduated from middle school. I officially have a high-schooler! Yikes, how in the world did that happen!...
Hudson said goodbye to his first-grade teacher, Mrs. Marchese, and some of his classmates at a farewell drivebye...
Kendall said goodbye to her fourth-grade teacher, Mrs. Lopez, in the same fashion, but I didn't get any pictures.
We celebrated Father's Day with the best father in the world!...
We discovered a new nest in our treehouse... this time in the mail box hanging on the inside of the door. It's amazing how fast a bird can build a nest. That makes two nests in the treehouse and two nests in one of our trees. Thank goodness we have so much time to climb trees and play in the treehouse this year or we may have missed these fun glimpes into bird life...
Kendall met a new butterfly friend and changed her hair a bit... with a wig. She, Hudson, and her friend also started a not-for-profit business making and selling Rainbowloom chokers and bracelets for an animal rescue called Four the Paws. They set up a table and chairs in our front yard daily and sell to whoever happens to walk by. They've actually been very successful!...
I decided we needed another treehouse-like family project, only on a much smaller scale this time. So, we all cut, nailed, sanded and stained a wooden sofa table, and then took the kids little craft table, cut and sanded it down, and restained it to use as a coffee table. They both turned out great...
The legendary bouncehouse reemerges from the garage and helps keep us and the neighbors cool on a hot, humid day. The Dunkin Donuts the neighbors brought with them were icing on the cake!...
Brooklyn and Hudson take to the backyard to swing, fish, and jump on the trampoline to learn some new tricks...
Ella and I take on an impossible task... we started going through each LEGO book and bagging up all of the pieces into sets again. It drove Ryan absolutely insane to have Lego pieces covering every surface in the kitchen and family room, but we've accomplished bagging over 30 sets so far. Unfortunately, we have several more to go...
Finally the beaches reopened and we had the best beach day ever with friends...
Other big news - in addition to COVID-19 - was the murder of George Floyd by a police officer sparking riots and protests coast to coast. I thought this sign was powerful...
And, just for fun... a few more memes for the times we're living in...
