Doug Visits

Doug Volan drove down from New York for his annual Fall visit on Saturday. The weather could not have been better and the Fall leaves were amazing. We played games and ate Indian Garden for lunch on our back porch, took a hayride to pick pumpkins at Styer Orchard, shopped for a tutu for Brooklyn's Halloween costume, carved a few pumpkins, ate dinner and apple cider donuts, drank fresh apple cider, ate a variety of amazing cookies that Doug brought with him from NY, and got caught up on all of the news from the past year since we'd last seen eachother. He did not disappoint in the gift-giving department either. He always comes loaded with the latest books, fun activity kits, games, and toys for the kids, as well as treats from the best bakeries in the area.

It's always so good to see him and it's amazing to me that we've stayed in touch all of these years since our days working together at New York Life Insurance in New York City when I was still in college at BYU. How different our lives are now from those days.
