We've been planning our move to San Diego for as long as I can remember... like, nearly a year. It's getting to the point where it's embarrassing when we see people and they're like, "Hey, I thought you guys moved to California in April."
Apparently, it's really hard moving ANYWHERE during a pandemic and it's crazy that the housing market is so insane right now. There's a lack of inventory and a surplus of buyers. The last house we put an offer on had eight other offers within 48 hours of listing. I'm hoping we'll have as much luck selling our house here in PA when the time comes!
Since our timing has been delayed so long, and the kids were getting anxious to learn more about where we were moving, we decided to take them to CA for a short weekend tour of our soon-to-be-eventually-maybe new home town. We spent our days eating really great food, driving through some of our favorite neighborhoods and around schools, searching for sand dollars and sea shells at the beach, visiting the sea lions in La Jolla Cove, swimming in the hotel pool, and just enjoying being somewhere new. It's wasn't quite the first experience of San Diego we'd hoped to give the kids, but they were happy to finally see it and now have a visual image of what to look forward to in the (hopefully... maybe) near future.
