I was happy about it until I realized that meant worrying about Christmas card family pictures and Christmas shopping. Yuck.
But the good news is the Christmas music is playing, the house is decorated, we have our tree up and glowing, the cards are on their way here, AND (by a Christmas miracle) the shopping is almost done! Yahoo! Let the Hallmark Christmas movie and popcorn marathon begin!
Our favorite tree farm was closed this year (apparently there's a Christmas tree shortage... I'm feeling like we should get an artificial tree to help save the planet), so we ended up getting one from a farm we've never been to before. Not sure it's going to survive till Christmas. But we had fun cutting it out of its netting and decorating the poor thing to death...
It was Brooklyn's turn to put the start on the tree...
My favorite Nativity is by Patience Brewster. Sugar has been sending me new pieces every year for the past few years and they are the most adorable (and very breakable) things ever...
Getting ready for the cold weather (and maybe floating around the idea of wearing hats for our Christmas card pictures so I don't have to do everyone's hair... love the GAP tags still on the hats)...
We drove around for about 45 minutes trying to find a place to get our family pictures. Everywhere we went was either too crowded (six feet distance, please!) or baricaded. In the end we ended up at the kids' tennis club where there was a red barn up against the property line. Good enough for me and now we're DONE!!
The kids were so embarrassed they would see someone they knew....
A surprise from Sugar... she embroidered these cute aprons that say "Christmas Cookie Crew" and sent pre-made cookies to decorate. So fun....
