Originally, the birthday party idea this year was for Ella to invite some of her girlfriends to our local Build-a-Bear. After each of the girls made and dressed their new friend, they would all come back to our house for a super fancy tea party with them. Cute, right? Well, Ryan hated the idea and Ella has way to many boy friends that we just couldn't leave out of the celebration. Hence the reason we had a Secret Agent/Spy birthday party instead. (Pictures of that are coming as soon as I figure out how to free up space on my hard drive for the party pictures.)
However, Ella was still dying to go to Build-a-Bear (she'd never done it before). So, on her actual birthday (the party was the day after) Grandma Sugar treated the girls to Build-a-Bear. Ella loved every minute of it, especially the "bath" and clothes shopping (although she nearly picked the ugliest animal to build... the pink unicorn. Yikes that thing is ugly! It took a lot of convincing that one of the other animals would be better!). Brooklyn liked Build-a-bear, but also enjoyed riding the mall train with Grandpa Asay.
In the end, Ella walked out of the place with a Fall-like teddy bear named Candy (thanks a lot, Sugar!), a Halloween costume with shoes, a ballerina outfit and shoes, a swimsuit, flipflops, towel and beach chair. Brooklyn made out with a cute puppy dog named Cowboy and a Halloween costume.
Thanks again, Sugar.
Going for a ride on the train with Grandpa Asay.
