Construction Zone Birthday Party

It's been a busy and very exciting weekend! Ella had a super cool "Construction Zone" birthday party yesterday and Kendall received a wonderful blessing from her dad at church today. What's even better is we had lots of family in town to enjoy both events... Grandma and Grandpa Asay, Ryan's sister Andrea and her four kids, my mom, and Jim. It's been one big sleep over at our house, too.

Ella's 5th birthday party was so much fun. When the kids arrived they got hard hats and tool belts. Then we went on a scavenger hunt to find all of their tools. The best part was the kids using their tools to hammer in golf tees (nails) into styrofoam and using their screwdrivers and wrenches to screw nuts and bolts into these cool little wood planks that Jim made. We also played "Hammer, hammer, nail," which is basically "Duck, duck, goose" but we used little blow up hammers to tap the kids' heads. We had "Topple the Tower," "Construction Cone Ring Toss," and construction cone pinatas

Ella had a great time and loved having all of her friends, cousins and grandparents here to help celebrate.

Checking out the new gifts.

The whole crew suited up and ready to work.

My right-hand man. I couldn't have done the party without her and the help from Clark and Christy.
