The Nativity

Tonight was the big night. Ella had her school nativity play and boy was it a long time coming. She has been sooooo very excited about it for weeks and of course, in true Ella style, she couldn't wait to get up on stage and perform! We've been rehearsing at home and she's been rehearsing at school with the rest of her classmates and it all paid off in a great performance tonight.

Ella was Shepherd #1 and had the opening line, "At that time, it was ordered that all must go to their own city to be counted. Mary went with Joseph to Bethlehem." The delivery was superb - clear and loud! Her amazingly wonderful teacher, Mrs. Vogel even made Ella a pink shepherd's costume, which of course, Ella loved.

After the play, the kids enjoyed treats, apple cider, and a whole lot of praise! Way to go Ella.

All of the kids singing the final song in the program.
Ella standing tall and proud of her performance.
Having fun at the 'party' afterwards.
Ella's teacher, Mrs. Vogel, told me a few days ago that Ella had memorized all of the lines and actions to the play. So during rehearsals Ella was directing everyone and helping them remember what they were supposed to say and when. That was evident tonight. During the play Ella was still directing her classmates and feeding them their lines. I think she has the potential of becoming a director just as much as an actress!
