Halloween 2011

Halloween is always interesting around our house because my girls choose the most random costumes. Ella decided she wanted to be the Pirate Princess from the one episode of Jake and the Neverland Pirates. Of course no one, not even Disney herself, has a costume for that character. Therefore, I had to come up with one on my own (and unfortunately, it didn't turn out super great).

Then there's Brooklyn who wanted to be a dragon, then a cow, then a zebra, and then finally settled on a ladybug costume from Target. It was cheap and someone had already swiped the wings and antenna from the costume package. So, she went to her school Halloween party as a ladybug. When she got home from her party and saw the two hand-me-down costumes I had pulled out for Kendall to wear, she decided she wanted to wear one of those instead of her ladybug costume.

That's not the end of it folks... so, on Halloween night, she had a brilliant idea (with the help of her big sister) to mix the two costumes like Boots does on Dora's Halloween (remember, he's a firefighter chicken?). Therefore, she trick-or-treated as a ladybug fairy (white fairy costume, ladybug "wings" that I made her). Go figure.

At least Kendall was easy. She wore the same butterfly costume Ella wore when she was just one month old. Of course, it was a little too small for Kendall, but I don't think she cared.

Thanks for cooperating, Kendall. I'm sure next year you'll be more opinionated about what you wear on Halloween night!
The ladybug costume was so cheap that it probably would have fallen to pieces if she'd worn it again on Halloween night anyway.
Pirate Princess, Ladybug Fairy, Butterfly. Plus, the two cute pumpkins Ella and Brooklyn carved.
 Two of our awesome neighbors!
This year it was a little colder than usual because of the snow storm we had on Saturday. Luckily we have festive blankets to go with the holiday.
These two didn't do a great job yelling "trick-or-treat" or even "Happy Halloween" when the doors were opened. We'll have to practice for that next year.
Getting ready to head out to a few more houses.
 Munching away on the goodies.
Even Kendall got a good share of goodies, which she enjoyed eating.
