Woods' Visit - Day 4

We started bright and early Saturday morning. Ella and Brooklyn play soccer at 8:30 am, so we didn't have much time to dilly dally around the house.  It was their last game of the season (thank goodness cause it's getting way to cold), which meant they would both be getting medals!

At this age, I'm all about everyone on the team getting a medal, no matter how hard they play. However, honestly, I didn't think Brooklyn deserved to get one. She started off playing great, but then she spent most of the games standing on the field doing absolutely nothing, and one whole game in the car in time out. So, I felt like she needed to really play hard this last game and "earn" her medal.

In order to help her play her best, my mom gave me the great idea of letting her wear her favorite skirt over her uniform. I was willing to try anything and Brooklyn was thrilled with the idea because, of course, she still only wears skirts every day.

You should have seen the stares we got by the other kids and their parents when we showed up on the field. You would have thought Brooklyn was wearing a clown suit. Who cares, right? The point was, she played a little better and had a lot more fun than she had at previous games. And that's all I wanted.

Ella did a lot better this season than her first. The few games I watched (the girls played at the same time on separate fields), she was active and aggressive and tried harder. Is she going to be a future soccer player?... hmm, not sure about that one, but she's having fun.

After the soccer game, we headed down to Adventure Aquarium for a day under the sea. The girls love this place and we always stop to see the hippos first. The aquariums full of sea life are amazing! We walked through the shark tunnel, pet sting rays, sand sharks and star fish, and learned a ton about penguins while they were being fed. What fun.

 Why are hippos so fascinating? I love them, too, especially when they're swimming around in the water. I could watch them for hours.

 I also love this turtle. I fear the day when he gets old and dies. He's just so much fun to watch and is huge. There are lots of other cool fish in this tank.

I'm not sure if Ella is trying to touch the sharks or go swimming with them. All I know is she gets soaking wet every time. Even her hair.
