So, that's what we did. The kids ran down the stairs as usual and opened two gifts. Then we ate breakfast together, got ready for church, came home from church, and opened presents again. I'm so glad we did it this way so we weren't so rushed and could actually enjoy and see what everyone was opening.
New Christmas Eve PJs, and then off to bed they go to dream...
The kids actually slept in on Christmas morning (we ended up waking up Hudson), which is always nice for those elves that have to stay up late, but the kiddos were ready to run down those stairs as fast as possible as soon as we gave them the thumbs up...
Kendall got a new FitBit watch, barking puppy dog, suitcase, American Girl Doll ice cream cart and pink convertible car, Beanie Boos, and gift cards. But really, the only thing she asked for, besides a real live puppy, was a Rubik's Cube...
Hudson's favorite Christmas gift was his new puppy onesie pjs, but he also got Nerf Guns, Super Hero Legos, gift cards, headphones, and a few other odds and ends. But his one and only request this year was a Ninja Turtle stuffed animal...
The only thing Brooklyn wanted this year was a Rubik's Cube, as well. She also got American Girl Doll camper, Snap Circuits, a barking dog like Kendall's, gift cards, a reading pillow, a jewelry holder, and a coupon good to get her ear's pierced...
The barking dogs...
One of the gifts they opened first thing in the morning were these cute new church clothes...
Off to church to celebrate the real meaning of Christmas...
And then the chaos continued...
And the biggest surprise was Ella's new Kindle Fire. You can't imagine how excited she was to open her very first electronic device. She also got Legos, Snap Circuits, gift cards, and a few other little things...
Yay, Santa brought him a Ninja Turtle...
So, the last and final gift we gave the kids was a real surprise. Ryan and I told the kids the last gift we had for them was a new ornament hidden on the tree. Well, of course, that didn't sound like a super fun gift to the kids, but when they found it and got it off the tree, they saw it was Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy in a hot air balloon. Attached to the ornament was a note saying we were going to Disney World. The kids were so excited!! We're leaving on January 25th!
