However, having said that, it's been an absolute blast to go and watch Ella swim in her swim meets, to see all three girls improving in their dance classes, and watching them run and make new friends at Girls on the Run twice a week. They've been able to keep up, and thanks to Ryan, and a carpooling neighbor, so have I!
The Girls on the Run program is amazing! The girls talked each practice about self-esteem, community service, and friendship, as well as a bunch of other positive topics. Ella and Brooklyn made great new friends and learned a bit about running and taking good care of their bodies. At the end of the season, the girls and I ran a 5k with all the other GOTR girls in the area. The freezing cold race morning started off with making signs, getting pictures with friends, and getting warmed up to start running...
We did it!!! Some walking and running got us to the finish line...
Ryan, Kendall and Hudson were there the whole time to cheer us on at different points of the race. They made these signs for us...
Miss Kendall almost has her splits...
Brooklyn across the floor...
This was Ella's last night at dance class. She has BEGGED not go back. She is NOT a dancer she told me, however, she's made so much improvement over the past few months that I'm tempted to torture her another few months...
Ella would rather be swimming and she's made a lot of improvements in the pool as well. On swim meet days, the coaches write their events down on their hands so they know when to line up...
She's still working on her dives and flip turns, but she's getting better and better every time...
Ella also went through the D.A.R.E. program at school the past few months. Thursday night was her graduation ceremony...
Ella and her buddy Addison...
