another season of soccer

Ella and Brooklyn finished another awesome season of soccer yesterday. They both went out with a bang... Brooklyn scored four points for her team and Ella scored five. I'm so proud of them - they have both improved so much this season.

Brooklyn is taking it down the field to the goal.
SCORE! High fives to coach Todd.
Brooklyn earned every ounce of this medal!
 Brooklyn in action.
Brooklyn has a little problem with using her hands and arms to push other little girls out of her way. Even the other team's coach had to shout "arms down" several times throughout the game. We all knew who he was talking to. Oops. =-)
I don't know what happened to all of my soccer pictures of Ella, but here's the one I can find. Ella is the last one standing up on the right. Ryan was at the game and told me that a goalie got smacked in the face with the soccer ball just as Ella's teammate was about to score. When the goalie when down, the rest of the girls just stood there and didn't know what to do to help the goalie. Ella, seeing the ball hadn't made it into the goal, decided scoring was more important than helping the crying girl. So she went up and kicked the ball into the goal to score. And that's my compassionate daughter!

  1. Great job Brooklyn and Ella!
Advice from Aunt Shelley girls. If winning didn't matter, why do they keep score! ;) So proud of both of you.
