The worst part about having a snow storm is digging ourselves out of it. There was so much of it this time that it took nearly two days to make it possible for us to get out of our house and down our driveway. That being said, it's amazing how much neighborly love comes out when there's this much snow. Everybody was helping each other, and, if for no other reason, that makes all this snow worth it...
It is actually possible for me to go outside in this kind of weather as long as I have enough layers on...
This is the before picture - taken after just a day's worth of snow. See my weather vane in the corner? From bottom to top, it's about three feet tall...
Before we started shoveling the snow off our back porch...
No way we're opening this door that leads to our back porch for a while, but I'm glad Hudson is getting on his snow goggles just in case I change my mind...
When the snow finally stopped this is what our back porch looked like. That big mound in the background is our BBQ, and to the right of that you can see the very top of our black patio chair. The brown part is our porch railing...
That's a lot of snow cone hopefuls...
That back porch was KILLER to shovel!...
When we finally dug ourselves out of the house, and could bear the cold, we took to the backyard and neighborhood hills with the rest of the kids in the neighborhood...
Brooklyn and her friend Emily...
Hudson...
Kendall...
Hudson was able to get up and down the neighborhood hill all by himself this year. This hill was perfect for him. Maybe next year he can manage our backyard hill on his own?...
Ella...
Some of the neighborhood riff raff...
