For the kids' Spring Break/Easter Holiday, we pulled out those shiny brand new passports and headed off to England where we spent seven day packing in as much as we could see and do. We had the most amazing time and the kids were such troopers. Granted, Brooklyn, Kendall and Hudson didn't enjoy spending long periods of time at some of the major places we visited as much as we thought they would (like Windsor Castle, Tower of London, etc) unlike Ella, who wanted to read every word on every sign, but I thought we scheduled just enough fun stuff for everyone at every age and interest level to enjoy the whole trip. England was the perfect place to go on our first international trip, and I can't wait for our next international adventure!
Our first stop was the aiport, obviously, where the kids talked me into purchasing my very first selfie stick. Best purchase EVER! Here is the first of many selfies!...
We landed in England bright and early, rented a car and drove straight to Windsor. The town is adorable, like so many in England...
We headed straight to Windsor Castle for an audio tour of the castle, St. George's Chapel, the grounds, changing of the guard, etc...
Changing of the Guard...
Lovin that selfie stick!...
St. George's Chapel...
We left Windsor Castle (once the little guys got bored) and headed to town for lunch at Wagamamma for noodle soup and edememe. Our bellies full, (and a little shopping under our belts) we headed out on the open road again to Stonehenge where the kids, and a hundred other visitors, tried pulling just one stone across the grass a few yards to see what it must have been like to build Stonehenge. Even with this large group, it was difficult and slow moving!...
Ella and Brooklyn getting ready to PULL...
Stonehenge had a great new visitor's center and these cool little huts, which scientists believe the Stonehenge workers lived in while they were working in the area...
Hudson getting comfy inside the hut...
These stones were impossible to budge. I can't even begin to imagine how workers did it thousands of years ago across hundreds of miles with no heavy equipment. It's still a mystery...
Thirteen years ago, Ella was in the same place getting the same picture...
Just a few miles from Stonehenge, we arrived at our adorable AirB&B cottage to get a good night's sleep. Our hostesses were staying next door and were the most lovely people! We enjoyed talking to them and learning more about the area. They had great recommendations on where to eat and what to see nearby. I definitely want to stay here again! Such a great, clean and newly remodled place, and I loved having three bedrooms to spread out so we weren't all crammed into one room...
Our hostesses front door had me swooning....
Loved this place and our front door was just as cute... even with all the goofballs standing in front of it...
