OWLS!!

No, that doesn't stand for Ordinary Wizarding Levels, as you might expect in our Harry Potter-crazed house! It's literally Hudson's newest obsession, and boy does he know his owl facts! His Kindergarten class has been studying owls for the past several weeks in preparation for the "Owl Show" and I couldn't believe the detailed information Hudson and his classmates have learned about so many of the more than 200 variety of owls. They even got to disect an owl pellet with their Big Buddies as part of the unit...

Hudson and his Big Buddy, Sam, are perfectly compatable partners. They both took the owl pellet dissection very seriously and calmly! They studied each bone they found and compared it to the chart to see what kind of owl food it could have been...

Looks like a frog to me...

The "Owl Show"...

Apparently the Owl Show has evolved over the years to include wizards, wolves, cheetahs, Storm Troopers, Ballerinas, PORGS, etc. in addition to owls. Hudson was a cheetah...

As part of their owl unit, each classmember picked one specific owl to focus on for their research. Hudson selected the Flammulated Owl because he liked its black and orange coloring...

What's a show without snacks afterwards? It's amazing what people can do with pretzel dough...

Hudson bit the head right off of this adorable owl cookie one of the mom's made for the after party...
