Happy 4th of July from the Mountains

We are in full swing up here at our family cabin in Pinetop, AZ. We arrived here on Monday after a very long day of travel to a cabin full of aunts, uncles, cousins, grandma Sugar, and friends. It's been non-stop fun and games since then, not to mention lots and lots of delicious food and treats. The weather has been amazing, too. Nice and cool!

Yesterday's 4th of July festivities were a blast. There were 50 adults and kids at the cabin for lunch where nearly everything served was either red, white and blue or star shaped. It was crazy, but oh so cute. Even the ice cubes were shaped as stars.

After the delicious BBQ, we ventured over in the rain to the country club for their annual 4th of July carnival. The girls played games, won prizes, and ate more junk food then I care to admit. In the end we ended up with another goldfish as well, which probably won't be making the journey back to PA with us (if it even lives that long).

We love coming up to the cabin this time of year and especially for the 4th of July to celebrate our country's independence and my dad's birthday. He would have been 64 years old yesterday. I always wonder what our lives would be like right now if he were still here. What he would think of all his grandkids and the mass chaos that ensues when we're all together. I'm sure he would have loved it.

Happy Birthday Dad, and Happy 4th of July from the Mountains.
Nothing like a princess riding a motorcycle. Brooklyn waited three weeks to wear this adorable new dress my mom bought her for the 4th of July. She woke up this morning - way too bright and early - and asked me if she could finally put on the dress.
These three are the cutest little monkeys.
Kendall found a quad just her size.
So happy to be at the cabin together this year.

 The whole clan.
 Eating Sugar's yummy food.
Who doesn't love a good bounce in the rain!
 Fishing for ducks.
Just what we need, another fish to kill.
After the carnival we stopped by my grandparent's cabin. My family grew up going to my grandparent's cabin and it hasn't changed a bit.
I wonder if my grandparents knew their family would get this big when they got married.
